The primary is the one-way bearing like what came in all the 900 trail models and many 900-S models as well. This set does not get rid of the engine braking from 0-18mph but makes it more usable.  The original setup was a little intense and yanked when the clutches' braking kicked in ( especially in low gear if let off the gas between 6-10 mph).
