- PRIMARY IMPROVEMENTS: The original Can-Am OEM primary had too shallow of a notch in the spring seat, which caused it to scrub against the side of the 1-way bearing while it spun, creating friction and heat. The immediate effect was stiff/ hard gear shifting, and eventually clutch/bearing failures. That has been addressed on the Mother Clutcher™ with added space for the bearing to spin freely. All our Can-Am clutches come with metal rollers (select OEMs had plastic). Additionally, we have a special Mother Clutcher™-formulated hard coating in the metal rollers that keeps them rolling smoothly even in dirty conditions. That keeps them from binding, hanging up, or flat-spotting the weights, leading to prolonged weight and roller life. This Mother Clutcher™ also has a proprietary, high-quality button pad feature, specially manufactured in Japan.
