- PRIMARY IMPROVEMENTS: The original Can-Am OEM primary had too shallow of a notch in the spring seat, which caused it to scrub against the side of the 1-way bearing while it spun, creating friction and heat. The immediate effect was stiff/ hard gear shifting, and eventually clutch/bearing failures. That has been addressed on the Mother Clutcher™ with added space for the bearing to spin freely. All our Can-Am clutches come with metal rollers (select OEMs had plastic). Additionally, we have a special Mother Clutcher™-formulated hard coating in the metal rollers that keeps them rolling smoothly even in dirty conditions. That keeps them from binding, hanging up, or flat spotting the weights, leading to prolonged weight and roller life. This Mother Clutcher™ also has a proprietary, high-quality button pad feature, specially manufactured in Japan.
